Why do I have to push the reset button before operating for the first time on Boss Audio 648UA

Because when the unit was built, where ever that might be in the world the clock an other systems were set for their area. A disk was run through telling the processor certain things to do an a technician adjusted what ever needed correcting. So a reset of the timing an processing chips are needed.

Hi i just installed a boss am/fm receiver in my boat it works for about five minutes then start to turn on and off, on and off. any suggestion.

I'm not experienced with the boss, BUT..... the symptom suggests that you have wired the receiver into a circuit which: 1. has too low a curent rating [not enough amps] for the receiver device, AND.... 2. is protected with a SELF RESETTING circuit breaker. IF that is the situation, then the OVERLOAD caused by the too heavy receiver is causing the circuit breaker to "TRIP" and cut off the electric power in the circuit. Self resetting breakers work by having a bi-metallic strip inside which causes the strip, when overheated by an overload, and in bending, OPEN the circuit, cutting off the power. This reduces the risk of an electrical fire!!!!! When the bi-metallic strip cools enough, it RE-CLOSES the circuit, turning the power back on UNTIL the overload causes to to trip again. This is a safety/fire protection issue, AND you need to take your vehicle to a QUALIFIED [CERTIFIED preferably] vehicle sound shop where a qualified TECHNICIAN can troubleshoot the issue, and probably will either find a more powerful supply circuit, OR.... ADD a new, adequately sized wiring circuit to support your sound equipment. What this issue sounds like is that YOU have installed a sound system/device which needs MORE POWER than your existing circuit can safely provide!!!!!!!! Be SAFE, get PROFESSIONAL HELP!!!!

Amp going into protect mode

The first thing I would check is how your speakers are wired to the amp. Multiple speakers wired in series or parallel will change the overall impedance that the amplifier "sees". If your impedance is too low (let's say 1 ohm) and your amp is only stable to 2 ohms, the amp will shut off to prevent over heating and damage. Hope this helps.

Cant seem to get the bass bumping louder

Not sure what product you have installed but, if this is an aftermarket amplifier then, you may need to adjust the gain at the amp.

JUST NEED WIRING DIAGRAM FOR PH5000D BOSS FOR TWO SUB

When two sub woofers are wired the most important thing that must be remembered is to keep the polarity and PHASING to be in line within the space. The sub can be connected in Series or in Parallel ( if the amplifier takes in very low impedance). The connections can be bridged from the output. Finally your taste to listen must determine the final settings and response

I had my boss 2400

If your amp started smoking, probably not. Due to your description, did the other sub really blow? I would hook it up to another amp to test it. It may have been a channel in your amp. As for repairing the amp, the parts and labor to repair will probably cost you more that to just replace the amp.

How to connect an boss

Assuming you have an aftermarket radio. You must remove the radio so you can attache your RCA cables and the remote turn on. Run these down one side of the vehicle back to the amplifier. Run the power wire from the battery back down the other side of the vehicle to the amplifer (remember to place your fuse within 12 inches from the battery connection. You will need to find a grounding point. I recommend removing one of the side carpeted panels to do this. You will be able to find the frame. Make sure to sand around where you will be connecting the ground. Hook wires to the amp (RCA to correct color RCA wire inputs, Ground wire to (-), power wire to (+), and remote wire to it's screw terminal. The other end of the amplifier should have the speaker outputs for your subwoofer(s). Hope this helps. If you need more information visit www.mobileinformationlabs.com

2003 ford f150 6 cd player. initializing goes to

In the cd player there are few main things. One is lens, this lens is the thin glass part which reads the cd.If this lens is got dirty or cracked or faulty. Then it will not be able to read cd.The lens is one possibility. The other possibility is faulty motor. There is a motor which spins the cd in the player. If the motor is not working then cd will not spin on the lens and it will not read the cd as motor is just stuck and not working. Also as you mentioned that cd got jammed in the unit o you spin the gears. The gears are also spin by the motor. If the motor is getting jammed then this problem occurs. It has to be checked. In some cases its just basic cleaning inside the unit. But in some cases the parts are to be replaced. If lens is faulty then ccd lens assembly has to be replaced. If motor is faulty or weak then it has to be replaced. ----------- If only lens is faulty then cd will spin in the unit,so you will come to know that motor is working. But if no motor spin noise then its faulty motor causing the problem.---

These are few possibilities of lens not working. But in most cases its dirty lens causing this problem. SO open the tray by pressing the eject button, then unplug the unit from main power outlet, by keeping the cd tray open. Then take air blower and blow air in the unit. Please remove, if there is any cd in the tray while blowing air. Just blow air for few minutes. Then take a dry tissue and clean the cd placing tray externally and then reconnect the power and see, if that is helping or not. If the problem is same as before, then disassemble the unit and clean the lens manually by hand using dry tissue paper and then see if its helping. But take care while cleaning the lens with dry tissue you doesn't apply too much pressure on lens or any other parts. Also before removing any screw to disassemble the unit. Take a marker with you ready. Just mark the position of parts and screws before removing. If you have a cell phone with web cam in it then take a photo of the internal parts before moving any parts. Disassembly is not very hard but reassembling is not easy. So this pictures and marks with help you for reassembly. ----------But if lens is cracked internally then the lens assembly has to be replaced. You can get it replaced from local cd /dvd player repair center. They have these parts with them. --------------- This should help. Thanks. Helpmech.

My boss 2.0 farad did

If you charge without a resistor, there will be a large spark. If you know how to wire, you can charge the cap through a light.

Wire from the (+) battery to one lead of the light, then the other lead of the light to the (+) on the cap. This will charge the cap a little slower. When the light goes out you can hook it right to the battery.
