Have you inserted a valid SIM card? what is the problem? when you insert you Sim into your mobile do you any of the message like this "Enter Restriction Code or Enter Unlock Code" if so your mobile is locked to your current network and unless otherwise you unlock it,you cannot use your mobile with other provider's sim in your contracted mobile..you can unlock your mobile by unlock codes and for codes you can contact your provider or can get it from online providers..once i got unlock code for my mobile from mobileunlocksolutions and unlocked my mobile..you can too try getting codes from them and get your mobile unlocked..and before unlocking your mobile get clear idea about unlocking procedure..visit mobileunlockguide to get step by step instructions about unlocking your mobile..

i would suggest calling technical support to see if the sim card you are using is even compatible with your laptop, you should not be having this problem if it is.

Sim cards are manufactererd accordign to phone types. However physically compartible sim cards usually are least functional with another device not intended to communicate. The sim card provides the link of communication also once established should not be tempered with else distorts the communications linkage. The code is the protection key that identifies the sim card to the phone that you own. First, tempering with a sim card during a functioning phones capability distracts from the service communcation provider. As a security medium, so after the sim card has been dislodged, the signal connection is by passed requirng a reset from the provider technitian. Contact the phone provider to revive missing sim card codes, or purchase another sim card to set a new code provided at the sells. Goodluck

I have one android phone, but while i am inserting the Sim card it is asking for some Sim activation code. please tell me what should i do
As far as I know free codes does not unlock your phone, so even if you would find a unlock code or whatever you'd have to spend some money.
I would recommend the Unlock-Zone.com site is nearly perfect and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums.
I used them to unlock my cell phone. contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked.

Friend, be sure you are using a functional SIM CARD. because the message means that the SIM CARD is niot functioning, try to call your network provider for that matter so that they will activate again the SIM for you. good luck

puk code is not a phone phone function . its a sim card function . the phone ask for puk code when sim cards pin code is enterd wrongly for 3 times . call customer support of ur netwok opertor from other phones and ask them to give the puk code for ur sim.. the simcrd must be in ur hand while calling them . as they will ask for a number printed in sim card (12-18 digit )
