I have had the same problem and the repair will not be onerous. You can buy a new steam knob on coffeemaker website (here the link for a new steam knob) but also on a lot of other web sites.
Don't forget to grease the screw that holds the steam knob. I have used some vaseline to mahe the replacement easier.
Not sure where you are, but in Australia, Stokes Appliances have a large range of Delonghi parts.
