BluRay is the latest video technology on the market and has nothing to do with NTSC DVD HQ . First came VHS , followed by VCD ( video cd ) and later DVD ( digital video disc ) . NTSC is the standard manufacturer's technology in use mainly in the States and Japan . Europe generally uses PAL system .
Bluray discs produce superior image quality and offer 5x more stockage capacity than the dvd discs .
They are also the far more expensive than other products . DVD and BluRay are NOT compatible .
