Punch 100a2 problem ouch

K have a rockford fosgate punch 100a2 amp trying to hook it up to a single 10" JL Audio sub. i have used these together on my last car, but its been a year ago and they have just sat in a closet since. hooked everything up properly, using a multimeter i get 12v on the amp power and on the rem from the radio and on the amp side. problem is, when on, the amp is not coming on all the time. the led light will come on sometimes, but even when it does, there is no sound to the amp'd speaker. i opened the amp up to check things out and dont think anything looks bad. how do you test the resistors and such out in the amp? can anyone give me some advice without me having to trash the amp and replace? thanks all

Double check the ground make sure you have a clean connection. check the ohm load on the speaker should be around four ohm. Or just try another speaker. And just temporary run a jumper wire from the positve to the remote unhook the remote from the radio first. It is possible you have 12 volts but if you have a bad connection it can drop off and send the amp into a default. and it looks like you have 12 volts. you have the 12 volts but no amps. Its a long shot but better than nothing. By the way if you call Rocford Fosgate they will email you a schematic for free if it is an archive file atleast they used to. Go to the website there you should find a contact number.

Without the proper training in electronics , Nowbodys goping to be abl to explain to you the way to trouble shoot something without you knowing the lingo and also what the terms mean and do!. You also need to know how to use a multimeter, an ocilliscope, have load resistors to hook up to the amp . A good power supply . You also will need to know how to read a resistor as the resistor color code. And Know how to test capacitors as well as a solid state device. im sorry i cant help you but I wish it was that easy to do or I wouldnt have went to school all these years. Send the unit into the factory or to a repair shop as you could cause more damage if you short something out by accident. Good Luck
