Printer problem My HP 2200D printer is making a high pitched sound, putting out a red light on the top light slot (exclamation point icon) and not printing the page sent to it. Any solutions?

Same problem here ... worked fine then all of a sudden ... when I try to print it makes a noise (kind of like a horn or high pitched noise). It must be mechanical but I cannot figure out how to get it work again

Take the toner cartridge out first and close the cover. Does the noise still happen?

Try replacing your laser unit. They are known to make a high pitch sound when they go bad.
