SOURCE: Dell Inspiron E1505 no sound in web browser

Thanks for the response damanpreet_c.
The volume button on the video and of the computer volume control are all to maximum.
I tried watching the same videos on other computers and they work fine.
However, Dell computer which used to play Video X through browsers A,B,C and had sound out now doesn't have any sound out. The same Video X after downloading on the same computer has the sound out. The same Video X without downloading through browsers A,B,C have the sound on other computers. Would this imply that on the Dell computer, the browser has some issues with the sound drivers in playing files?
Thanks again for the response.

SOURCE: Our son installed google chrome on his computer. I

Theres a short vid on how to use "incognito mode" here:

...and from what im to understand, the only way to view the past history while in "incognito" mode is if the user was logged into their google account, which may have been the case. Alternatively you can try some 'history recovery' methods here: "http://www.wikihow.com/Recover-Deleted-History-in-Windows" (minus quotes) which may help you. Hope this help :)

SOURCE: I may be infected with Virus! Help!

a clean installation

it is recommended to this service at least
once every 8 months, it wipes all your hard
drive from data, programs, bugs, errors and viruses
this will 100% solve your problem guaranteed.

for xp/ insert the installation disk
to be cleared you don’t need a specific disk made to your computer
if your coa says “Microsoft xp home or pro” then any windows home or pro
cd will do this the same apply to vista. So buy, borrow or download any OEM
not pirate version of the original operating system that is specified in your
Windows sticker. The oem cds can be found on ebay they should cost less
Than $10 or £10 do not buy the license version because your already have
The license underneath the laptop. “coa” is the sticker with the serial number
Which will be asked for in the middle of the installation.

restart the computer and a message will
come up asking to press any key to boot
from cd. once you do that "i mean you press a key"
then a blue screen will load then asks you
to press Enter to install xp.

1. press enter
2. select the partion and press enter
3. select continue "it warns you to delete files"
4. select format "quick"
5. now let it do the rest and follow instructions
6. when the installation is finished you'll notice
its like new again, some computers will need
drivers which you can get from manufacturer
website. download and install them.

SOURCE: My CD/DVD drive no longer shows up in My Computer

Since you have tried most of the stuff (even registry editing o.O), If you be logic to take the next step of assuming there might a hardware fault.

When the drive have power doesn't mean its working properly.

Do you have any friends or colleagues with the same laptop or another CD drive? Swap it and see if it works.
