Tries to read discs then comes up with error code HO2 and ultimately says NO Disc, but there is a good disc in (clean etc.) We have opened the case and tried to remove any dust.
Hello ahoy, The H02 error code has to do with the optical pickup. There are two things you can try that have worked for others in your situation. First, turn on your device, take out any disk, and close the tray. Push the (back skip, pause, and play buttons) at the same time. Hold for about 4 seconds and the screen will go blank then "initializing" will appear. Try your disc again. If it works, great, if not try this: Remove any DVD's, remove all wires to your DVD player, turn it upside down and gently shake it (this will remove any dirt or dust that could be preventing your optical pickup from working properly) Hook everything back up and try it again. Please let us know how this works for you, and if you need any additional troubleshooting. Best regards, nightdiver
Generally, when a panasonic disc player does this, the spindle motor is defective. If your handy, you can remove the motor and look up the number on it online. you should be able to find one. if your not, you can take it into a repair shop, but it probably will not be worth fixing, as these units have went down aklot the past few years.
