Screen at the bottom is fine but the more you move up the TV the tv shows alot of lines and strong green color in lines you can visibly see. Can see strong red color in say words that might be on screen say on sports ticker or something, the letters are all there but A definite strong red letter of each first word is shown like the word done, there would be a red d the done is spelled out in normal white letters. anyone estimate cost or problem this might be!! TV is about 4 years old. Comment by srwswish, posted on Oct 28, 2006 MGA 370 MGA CK35804 YA2B Video Color FLASHING GREEN IN PIC. 1. SOURCE: Convergence Problem?
Convergence problems are what you have possibly a pincushion error. Either way if you have to have a repair shop do the repair, you should look at replacing the old TV.
SOURCE: Distorted picture and multi-color words
You need to resolder the convergence chips. This is a very common issue with this line of TVs.
Hometheaterspot.com's Mitsubishi forum has detailed posts on how to fix this. Just serach for "55809 convergence" and you should find the info you need.

Go into your service menu and try to adjust the convergence, if it does not adjust, the IC's ( chips) are bad in that circuit. Call a local factory authorized dealer to service your tv. The cost should run around $450.00. Good luck.

my tv pissed me off one day so i hit the side of it, by the screen, and the concave went away for a while and then it came back. but sometimes u can get it to stay away for a couple days at a time. idk u can try it. it worked for me lol

You need to take your tv in and have the picture deflector re-aligned. This doesn't cost much, My dad had to do that to his a few months ago and it cost 30 bucks.
