ERROR Scanner error occurred. please see documentation

This is what is on the screen. Trouble is I don't have any documentation, printer was given to me. The machine seems paralised. It won't do anything

Brilliant. That seems to have done it. So basically the top doesn't like being in the "locked" position?
    How bizarre!!
    Thanks v much

I turned printer off and made sure the unlock button was chosen. I still get the Printer Error occured. Please see documentatin. We had a paper jam, but I do not see any more paper in printer.

i get the same error, " Printer error occurred. Please see documentation"..
I tried the lock/unlock trick, I've replaced the usb cable, and all ink cartridges..
I have yet to try drop kicking it, although that option is starting to sound good.
    Anybody have any other ideas?

It worked perfectly. I opened the cover, where you would put things to be copied. I moved the sliding switch on the left towards me. I then turned off the printer with the on / off button. When I turned the printer back on it worked.

Hi

Open the glass cover on top of printer, check a switch for lock and unlock on left or right hand side of the printer. toggle it to unlock position, turn it back on and check if there are errors still.

Keep me posted.

Hi I'm having the same problems and have tried all suggestions above. I tried pushing in the lever but that didn't help. I looked under the glass but there is no toggle that I could find. Any other suggestions?

thx for the tip on the lock/unlock. Apparently my unit was inadvertently locked the last time it was used to scan an item; i unlocked, restarted, and all was back to normal.

For the epson rx560 mines was saying "A printer error has occurred, see documentation" all you do is hold the stop/clear button then maintainance button(spanner) and the ON button all at the same time in that order.Hold the three buttons down until the printer resets itself. While doing this your printer will make weird noises.Hope this helps.
