Halve my Compaq 6720s' keyboard doesn't work, How can i fix this without paying too much?

keyboard doesn't work usually caused the path of the key on the keyboard is dirty by the dust and liquid.
1. remove the keyboard from the laptop (see instruction how to replace keyboard)
2. remove all the key (you should do this step carefully because the mounting of the keyboard is weak)
3. you will see the key path of your keyboard clean it using some alcohol better 90% alcohol (you can find it on drug store)

Keyboard on laptop won't work at all none of the keys work so can't log on

Hi friend, As you have mentioned that the keys on the keyboard are not responding, so, i would like you to do one thing. Please connect any external USB keyboard to your laptop and check if it is working fine.
If it works, it means that the keyboard of the laptop needs to be changed, else, if the external does not work then there is a need to replace the motherboard and the keyboard of the system

MY HP COMPAQ 6720S KEYBOARD WILL NOT WORK ON SOME LETTERS O P NUMBERS AND DELETE ENTER ECT WHAT COULD BE WRONG AND DO YOU KNOW HOW I CAN RESOLVE IT

The keyboard is essentially a large electric circuit and these can fail just as well as other components. There could also be dirt and dust buidup under the key caps. The keyboard uses a flat cable to tie into the motherboard and usually if the cable become loose, the keyboard will fail overall and not just a few keys. I would change out the keyboard. If you want to try and uninstall the keyboard and then let windows re-install it on bootup, go to the device manager and select the keyboard and uninstall it there. When you reboot, the computer may ask to go to windows update to search for an updated driver, let it. It is my opinion though that the keyboard needs replacing. Below is the service manual for disassembly reference.

You need to check your keyboard setting layout , look for it in your control panel and change the layout to either uk or us, which ever applies to you.
