By using Rynga voIP system if I make call directly, call fails showing that my sound device does not support it.

Go to the options and change the sound device settings. I have a different voip system and it is on Tools --> Options --> Sound Devices

Cannot get my softphone to engage my headset.

You probably need to check your audio controls in your computer's control panel to make your headset the default audio device and also make sure your softphone control panel is set the same way.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

HOW TO SET UP LINKSYS PHONE ADAPTER WITH ROUTER SPA2102-R

What I have understand from your question is that you just want to get your VoIP device working but probably you may need a SIP account from a VoIP service provider.

Cant call out local or long distance.Phone number dialed want ring.WHY!!!

I assume you are talking about using a VOIP device such as vonage to make the calls? There are a fw things that will stop it from working. One is that the setup on the voip unit is wrong. It needs to know the gateway number which is just the ip number of the normal router connected to the cable or dsl modem. It can also be a port setting in your router. To see if this is the problem you can try connecting the voip device directly to the modem. Then try to make a call. If it works then you know it is a port or an ip setting. If it doesn't you could have a faulty voip device or it isn't being authorized by the company.

Can a linksys router support voip and vpn?

It depends which model and which device because all devices differs in nature and the best way is to check each model`s manual or datasheet.

I just bought a SPA-2102 NA, is it possible for a voip provider to lock me out of my device ?or set a password so i cannot reset the device I paided extra to the the unlocked NA version so that i would be...

Yes - if you set provision enable to "yes" or resync from SIP to yes, they can then set your SPA to download a configuration file with an admin password you don't know.
Seems pretty rude (as in legally actionable) if they have actually done this.

Nikkai VoIP funky internet phone - software problem?

I installed a U.S. Robotics VoIP phone on a Vista Laptop and had exactly the same problem.

The reason why it happens is because a VoIP phone contains a microphone and speaker. Windows Vista/XP senses the microphone and speaker as two seperate entities. It then sets them both as the default microphone and speaker. You won't notice this being done until you get the 'Index out of bounds (1)' error.

Simply go to the control panel, and look for the sound/speaker/audio device option, then the sound and audio devices, click on the audio tab and make sure the 'sound playback' and 'sound recording' default devices are that of the laptop/pc and not of the VoIP phone.

Hopefully that should solve the problem.

Voip problems

Hello, there are several reasons too this, but the most common ones is:

- You have maxed out your bandwith.
Solution: Limit download and upload from filesharing. (need 256kBs free both ways to perform a good qualtiy voip call). Turn of web radios, webcams, video streaming. Encrypt wireless network

- Your Voip service provider cant keep alive registrasion link between their server and your voip device.
Solution: assuming you have both a modem and router, try to connect voip device directly to modem, if problem is solved you should try to upgrade firmware in router or by a new one (pref: Linksys). If problem still occures you should try to contact your broadband provider and get them to do a 24hr scan for datapackage loss on your connection (if they find datapackage loss, then its their job to fix the problem). If none of this works conntact your voip service provider and get them to send you a new voip device.

This is not a final solution, but it shold be a good guide to start with. i can give you much more detailed support on this issue, but then i need more details to analyse the problem further.

greetings
