I have acer aspire 5742. until last week everything was fine and once i re installed my OS i'm not getting the visual confirmation like volume has increased or atleast it is not showing me any menu when i press fn + f3 it simple turns on both wifi and bluetooth or it turns both of them off. So kindly anyone provide me with the solution.

WELL I THINK U HAVE A PROBLEM WITH COMPATIBLILTY SO u need to uninstall the lateset driver then u need to clcik right click of ur lastest driver chen check the compatibilty to windows xp sp2 then apply it then try to install it again

if you have a system restore disk, restore the settings back to the factory presets. XP System restore could help you, but the restore disk is usually the end result

have you install the drivers supplied with your bluetooth device?

Sounds like you need the driver installed for the bluetooth...here is a link to the Acer site with drivers for your model:

Just select the bluetooth driver from the first drop-down menu and install it, that should solve your problem.
