The manual is difficult to understand. Is there a simple way to program?
There are two ways to program your scanner. One is to do it manually. The second is to use a computer. The easiest way especially if you are programming alot of frequencies and alpha tags is to use a computer. Having said this I believe that you first should learn how to program manually so that you understand how the scanner works.

what kind of system are you trying to set up? conventional, trunked, etc...
