Non-functioning camera My Kyocera S5R has frozen in the lens-extended/flash up configuration, and the display is non-functioning, as well. Inserting fully recharged batteries in attempt to shut it down makes no difference. By pressing the power button it will give off its sound as if it is starting up, and on one occasion it did retract the lens and power the display, but in rotating the dial and selecting another function it went back to its zombie state. Is this a dead camera or is there a solution?
A call to Kyocera was finally returned and the tech indicated that it was likely a problem with the lens mechanism, probably in the gear box, and that the only fix would be to replace that.
