If the drain pump assembly located inside the front lower access panel is cleaned completely then it seems that the issue is with the timer control, it can be an issue with the relay going bad or another component on the control is bad and it should be replaced. I don't know if this is the same. However, on my washing machine I had to clear out the water trap at the bottom of the machine. I know I have to clean it out every 6 months to be on the safe side. This also helps the machine to not smell like old stagnate water and helps your clothing smell fresher with not having that water build up and sit. I found all strange things in all kinds of water overflow tubs.
