On start up it gives me a pop up window with this error: svchost.exe - application error, the instruction at "0x7d4caa9b" referenced memory at "0x00000010", The memory could not be "read". click ok to terminate click cancel to debug after doing alot of googling I can't seem to find the fix for this... I have tried changing the amount of page file memory and the following: computer, properties, advanced, performance, settings, advanced. I tried it with the processing schedualing and memory usage to background services and system cache, rebooted and tried it with them focused on programs, then I went to 'virtual memory, change' and changed the paging file to initial and max out on 672mb (1.5 times the RAM as advised) but still nothing works and the error pops up continuously. None of the drivers for anything seems to loading due to this memory reference error and I dont have a way to install anything due to fact none of the drivers are loading up which is frustrating to say the least.... occasionally the USB will let me connect something to them and read from a stick but not often... I have uninstalled as much as possible from the computer, including all JAVA and ADOBE programs, there is one java program called, plazmic cdk 4.7 for blackberry, when i try to uninstall this program it highlights it, flashes and its still there, same with MSN it just flashes and stays there... I dont know if its a registery error, a hardware error or anything?! Everything I try just seems to lead me no where.... on start up where it lets me choose which user account is where the error first appears, and if click 'ok' none of the sound drivers will load so the speakers dont work. if I ignore the box and click a user profile to log on with it then loads the sounds drivers and the speakers work fine. Any help would be really appreciated!! system specs are: intel Celeron M CPU 430 @ 1.73GHz 1.73GHz, 448 MB RAM Windows XP home edition version 2002 service pack 3
The memory could not be read message indicates to me that you may be experiencing a problem with your RAM. Test it doing this Test your RAM with Windows Memory Diagnostic tool

I opened cmd and typed in 'sfc /scannow' a loading bar came up and the message saynig 'files that are required for windows to run properly must be copied to the dll cache' insert your windows xp home edition cd-rom now, now I dont have the cdrom and even if I did then it wouldnt let me load it as the drivers for the cdrom drive dont load so it cant read a disc....
also there are no system restore points so i cannot revert it at all....any ideas?
right i have gone through all the registers and cant find any evidence of malware spyware etc so its not looking like a virus or anything, i have gone into the event viewer and am seeing lots of errors, i mean lots!!! the majority of them seem to be coming from W32TIME, namely 'the teim provider 'ntpclient' failed to start due to the following error: a non-recoverable error occurred during a database look up. (0x80072AFB) for more information see.......... so now im thinking maybe its the bois/cmos not keeping time correctly or again someother underlying problem....CAN ANYONE HELP??? AM I GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, WHAT ELSE CAN I DO.....
this error appears the same but with ''ntpserver' instead of client, and then after both of these errors appear it then gives this error...'The time service is configured to use on or more input providers, however, none of the input providers are available. the tiem service has no source of accurate time' does anybody on here have the remotest idea....
