Memory module Hi, I have a gateway solo 5300 bought it cheap with no memory. Bought a module (256mb 133 mhz (16Mx64)) fitted it but no screen action. After searching for info I think that I should maybe have bought a module with 100MHz. Can u confirm or am I totally off the mark. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

Model E1505 is not listed. Find a manual somewhere else or see if 1501 is a 100 mhz model. My guess it their is something wrong with it(the motherboard?) is the reason it doesn't work?

It doesn't matter if the memory you bought is a higher spec. (speed) it will still run on a lower memory spec. laptop at the lower speed.

It is only a slight problem if you mix different speed memory. If the laptop uses high speed memory and you mix high speed and low speed together in this laptop, the memory will only run at the slower speed, therefore the laptop will operate slower. It doesn't matter if the memory you bought is a higher spec. (speed) it will still run on a lower memory spec. laptop at the lower speed.
