My pc would freeze up, so I ran virus scan, spybot, adware,....all clear! I tried a system restore using the pre-installed Pheonix program and it would freeze at 19%. I restarted my pc....nothing.....said boot failure.....restarted hitting F2 until Pheonix came up.....tried to restore to factory specs.....had a brown out in out neighborhood and now I cant even use the Pheonix software. I figured it erased winXP and drivers so I ordered them from the manufacture.....now im trying to load and I thought all was good....saw it loading drivers and misc pc software....now its hung on " setup is loading files (Windows file system (NTFS).....How long should i wait to see if this completes before trying something else?
The installation of XP should take about an hour, if it is still hanging, I am thinking the hard drive got messed up when you had the poer outage.
If you don't have any utilities to check your hard drive I suggest you take it to your local computer repair shop and have them diagnose the problem.
Good Luck.
