Crackling in 1 channel

I have an old school punch 75 pre hd that has a bad crackling in 1 channel. It was both channels. I replaced all output fets, all the ao6 and a56 transistors, all emitter resistors and 1 side works great but the other does not. The side that does not work will not bias either. I did find a very burnt resistor just in front of the transformer but don't know if it is part of the chaneel or causing the problem. Its so burnt I can't tell the value. Its right next to a IN5336B diode. A picture would be nice. Please help??

MJE182 is a replacement for the now obsolete D40D8, although the D40D8 is still available on e-bay.

Sounds like the D40D8 transistor the one that stands straight up on the board and not heatsunk! there are two of them. could have a cold solder joint there. have had a few of these problems from people doing hack repairs to them. they look like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290297644906&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
