What is causing Scotsman icemaker to moan
perhaps it's unhappy? I can't say i blame it, if I had to sit there all day in the freezing cold making ice I would moan too.
here's a list of possible problems
If it makes excessive noise:-
Problem and Likely Causes/ Probable Solutions

Hello David Riome,

Why are you discovering a FACTORY ASSEMBLY
does not fit ...??
(just be sure... KITCHENAID was one of my worst).

and keep in mind...
ALUMINUM only bends a very few times before
it breaks (soft, brittle & very difficult to repair).
((protect it)).

The FAN must be free of all obstructions to function.
If it is out of balance, worn or broken in ANY WAY...
REPLACE IT...

Make sure all wires and lines are ABSOLUTELY
NOT in contact with the fan bracket...
(secured out of the way).

Most of these newer units have aluminum evaporators
and a FAN BRACKET will easily wear a HOLE in
your REFRIGERANT LINES.

Like a saw... It may take a couple of years but
sure as winter follows autumn... $$$$$ damage
from conflicted refrigerant lines.

Move the wires and lines away from the FAN.

The fan has a limit control wired in series that shuts the fan down until the coil temperature reaches 25*F. this prevents the fan from blowing warm around after defrost.
There is also a switch which is placed for the door to close. Either one may be defective.
Worst case is the freezer is not pulling down temperature wise.

If you can pull the unit out from the wall, find the motor compartment. There, you'll find a black can with the motor and compressor inside it. This usually creates vibration when running. Check the compressor's mounts, to see if they need tightening or have rubber grommets that have rotted away. The sound could also be coming from a fan somewhere in the machine. There might be a fan in the motor compartment. Find the vents inside the unit that blow cold air. Check the guards to see if a foreign object could have made its way into the vents and jammed a fan. Make sure you unplug the fridge before you stick any hands or tools someplace they wouldn't normally go. You may want to let the unit run while peeking in with a flashlight to locate the source of the vibration, but beware of moving parts and a shock hazard.

Kelvinator Single Door Hardening Cabinet Flash Freezer fan
If the fan motor shaft is smooth with 1 flat spot the hub on the blade probably has a hex set screw that can be tightned with an allen wrench. If the fan motor shaft is threaded there should be a nut holding the blade on. Also yur motor bearings could be going bad causing vibration which damages the fan blade.

Noisey fridge freezer
Please check the fallowing:
-Loose flooring or floor not firm.
- Cabinet not level.
- Tubing in contact with cabinet, other tubing or other metal.
- Drip tray vibrating.
- Fan hitting another part or worn fan motor bearings. Unplug the unit and rotate fan manually by your finger.
- Compressor mounting grommets worn or missing; mounting hardware loose or missing.
- Free or loose parts causing or allowing noise during operation
- Check compressor it may contact with tubing or other parts.
- Check the body of your unit is not touching the wall or other object
