Hi I have a netopia 3341 router DSL with ethernet hookup and a linksys wrk54g wireless g. When I hook up my desktop it has XP on it, I get nothing. The linksys was given to me and worked at its previous location. I tried getting the laptop to work too but it says it gets no signal. I think its something with the isp address but dont know how to go about setting it right. If you could explain I would appreciate it. Thanks

Ok so the wireless router you got given, was that simply unplugged from it's previous home and then plugged in at yours?
In order for it to work (to connect your pc) it will need to be reset back to factory and then reconfigured..
It should have some type of small almost pin sized hole on the back or bottom of it, with the unit plugged in, press this with a pin or paper clip in and hold for 2 to 3 seconds then let go, do this around 10 times and it will definatly be back to factory settings.
Once you have done that it needs to be plugged in with a cable to desktop or laptop to configure it (set up broadcast name and password) BUT you need to know the ip address of the device (normally 10.1.1.1 for wireless)
Once it is directly pluged in to computer with ethernet cable, Open your Internet exploier.
Type in the address bar: http://10.1.1.1
IF this is the correct ip for the device it will open a page for you to configure router...If nothing opens try these:
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.0.1
http://192.168.1.254
If it asks for user name and password these are normally either:
User: admin
Password: (leave blank)
OR
User: admin
Password:admin

once your in, your looking to set up wireless..

Let me know how you get on
