Extensions missing If I go to Tools, Folder Options, View. "Do not show Hidden files and folders" is checked and so is "Show hidden files and folders" If I click on "show hidden files and folders" the other one unchecks. Hide extensions for known type is checked, I uncheck it. Hide protected operating system files is checked, I uncheck it. I then click "OK" and go to explorer and I still cannot see the extensions. I then go back to Tools, Folder Options, View and all the options I unchecked are checked again. I'm stumped any idea guys or gals

Thanks for the response tbock, I neglected to put in my request that I tried the apply and had the same response as hitting the ok key. The difference in a system that is working properly and you hit the apply button you see the change immediately and if you hit the ok key you see the change when the window closes.

Keep them coming because I'm about ready to reload xp and that is not something I look forward to.

You have to make sure you click the "apply" button before exiting otherwise windows reverts to your last saved configurations. Hope this helps
