Use an external mouse to regain control of the pointer. Then go to System Preferences/Accessibility/Mouse & Trackpad and uncheck Enable Mouse Keys near the top of the window. You can then disconnect your external mouse and use the trackpad instead. I had the frozen pointer problem and solved it in this way. I had not previously opened Accessibility but, for some unknown reason, the Enable Mouse Keys box had become active.
Try en external USB mouse, if that still doesn't solve it, press Ctrl+Alt+Del, go to Processes, look for explorer.exe,click on in and " end process", click on "File", New Task", and type explorer, see if you can move your pointer now!
