Error flashes I was printing 30 sheets of one document but it would only print the document and the a blank piece of paper. So I clicked print over and over and over and counted the times but when i was at about 15, I looked at the printer and saw way more pieces of paper then I had printed. I panicked thinking the previous 30 had printed as well, and knowing how fast the printer was I thought I was expending a ton of paper. I turned off the printer and pulled out the last sheet of paper... the printer was done writing on the page but the page had a little room left that was still in the printer. I counted the pages and saw that I was an idiot and it was because it was still printing one blank piece of paper for every document printed. I turned it back on to begin printing again and it just flashes error over and over. I turned it off and re-plugged everything then turned it back on again. Blue light turns on then red light for error. I went to printer on my computer and its still connected, but I went to file and cancel all printing. Error still flashes. I printed a new document. Error still flashes. I clicked the blue button and held my finger on. Error still flashes. I put more paper in. Error still flashes. I turned on and off. Error still flashes. I tried to put the printer offline... Error still flashes. It seems like a really simple problem with an easy solution. All I did was turn it off while it was about to print a new piece of paper... I don't see how that can essentially put the printer out of service. I would also like to know how you can print several copies of one document without clicking print over and over and having to count. Thanks for any help you can give and please give a solution ASAP!

A piece of paper is actually inside of the printer... I have tried pulling it out with tweezers and with my hands but it is ripping and won't move... FML

Is there anyway I can push this mother out or do I have to unscrew the whole fu***ing thing

I've read several posts on the "red flashing error light" on the Brother HL-2170W. I have mine hooked to a mac - but I'm sure the pc is the same way. One other previous post said look for a paper jam. Well, there are only a few places to look...and I found no paper jam UNTIL I removed the toner cartridge and looked UNDER the cartridge and VOILA, there was a paper jammed underneath. I removed it and I'm back in business. Normally paper jams when it is almost out of the printer and you can locate it by opening the back of the printer. Well, this one was "sneaky" and hid completely underneath the toner cartridge.
Hope this helps someone else...

HI there it sound like you have either jammed the paper exit sensor up or broken the arm of it

youcan find the sensor by the rollers that the paper exits the printer through there should be a small platic arm haning down accross where the paper comes out to tell the printer that the paper has come out if it is jammed in the up position it will make the printer think there is still a peice of paper in the hot fuser unit and wont let the printer start up .

So carfully have a look at the fuser exit locat the arm and free it so it swings down freely and the problem should be solved when the printer is restarted

Hi There the best way to try and remove any paper ( I presume Its In the fuser (hot Roller section) would be to unscrew the fuser which will allow it to run free then just pull out the problem is that you are trying to turn the whole copier when all the gears are meshed and henthe paper tears
