Error Code Display

I have had my watch for nearly 4 years.  I replaced the battery once, but now I am getting a code on the watch.  First it displays a number code (814017) at the bottom of the screen and then reset itself to January 1 2000.  What could be the problem?  I have never seen this before and this is my second Ironman watch.  Only had to replace the battery when it went completely dead.  Thanks.

i have hte same problem. This started comming up after 4 months of a new battery change. The first 3 months after the batter change worked fine.

Sounds crazy to change the watch.

    Any resolution is highly appreciated.

Mine did the same thing after changing the battery and would reset intermittently without warning. For some unknown reason I decided to open the watch again. This time I reset the time and date with the back off the watch while deprssing the small spring that is there on the inside . Haven't had a problem since. Don't know if this is the solution but it worked for me. Good luck!

I have the same problem. Timex has made sure the internals of the watches hate having their battery changed. It's just so they can make us think "Why change the battery, just buy a new one." And really, it works. I've given up on mine. Time to move on to a nice Casio. Sorry. Unless you are a really technical expert on watches, you're pretty much SOL.
