Hello, my computer is not booting up and the screen is black. I can hear the fans and I believe the hard drive running but it won't go into the splash screen or show that it is doing anything. I took the motherboard battery out and replaced it, and I reseated the RAM. When I rebooted the machine, on the screen it said I needed to fix the time and date by entering F2. While I was doing that, the screen went blank again but nothing inside the computer shut off. I know my monitor is all right because I've tried it on a different computer. Please help.

Thanks again, ResueTechLA. A new video card had me up and running the next day!

Check your video adapter, Check whether your fan has enough power to work. May be a power failure. Check your power supply. If the fan doesn't work properly the system will shut down some times. If e'thing is ok then check your processor.
Hope this would work for you.

It could be the video card.

Is your video onboard or do you use a separate video card?
