Is it the actual knob that is broken or the little tab the knob holds onto that is broken. You either need a replacement knob or a replacement switch assuming the know is also the thermostat for the unit. Does that same knob control the fan speed? Temprature or timer?

Far right control on the hob does not fit properly.

Those knobs are plastic or Bakelite. They break pretty easily. Mine broke when I pulled it out to clean food debris under the knob. I found a replacement online for 25 bucks! Now I don't pull the knobs to wash the unit anymore.

2003 mitsubishi outlander temperature control knob would get stuck while turning..and finally snapped off and broke

The source of the problem is not the knob it is the temp blend door binding. Putting to much stress on the knob. If you replace just the control head with the knob it will only break again. You need a dampener repair kit and to install you will have to remove the dash and heater core.this will slow you to access the door that is binding. Hope this was more help then it broke replace it.

I have an older a/c model no. A494901 (?). The control knob broke off. Is it very hard to replace it with a new knob? And, where would I get a new knob? Thanks, -Fran O'Neill

Depending on your break is the stem leading from the settings selector switch still there or did it break to. If it broke as well you will need to replace both the selector switch and the knob. If not the knob can be obtained from your local Sears Repair Center.

Sounds like you broke the volume control knob for your speakers (Likely A215s)
Best bet, new pair of speakers as they don't sell replacement parts for the speakers themselves

well if you broke only the knob, then thats an easy fix.. just obtain part # 154535903 - KNOB and replace.
however if you broke the shaft off inside the knob you will need to procure part # 154668901 - CONTROL MODULE
remove power from the dishwasher and remove the screws holding the inner door panel to the door.
once that is removed you should see the control assembly and related wire harness that needs to be disconnected and screws that need to be removed, etc..

You don't list the brand, but you can buy replacement knobs for many brands from http://www.pacparts.com/. Note that while the parts are very reasonably priced, you may end up paying $12 shipping for a $1 knob. If it doesn't have to be a matching knob, you may be able to find one that will fit on a radio at a yard sale or junk yard. Another possibility is to try Radio Shack. http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=knob&origkw=knob&sr=1
