E1 error code

My Lifespan treadmill is showing an E1 error code. What would cause this?

If the belt moves for a few seconds, then it may be a sensor issue - If it does not move at all, chances are the circuit board or the motor are bad. Usually, the walking belt is the root cause of those failures.

My code E cleared after I vacuumed and blew all the dust out of the motor area. Step 1: take off the cover. Step 2: suck Step 3: blow Step 4: suck again. Problem solved.

Your problem might be that the sensor magnet has fallen off. Here's an illustrated guide that should make fixing it easy: http://fixmytreadmill.blogspot.com/2010/10/how-to-fix-treadmill-e1-error.html

Good luck.

If the belt moves for a few seconds before the E1, then the sensor may be out of alignment or not working. If the belt does not move at all, then the motor or circuit board (MCB) are probably bad. The walking belt is frequently the root cause of the problem.
