There are many aspects that you can edit the photo, including color, clarity, composition, blemishes, etc. Since there are so many steps, here are some simple tips.

Method 1: For this aim, you need to make use of the Brightness/Contrast sliders to get dark, complete blacks and vivid whites. Distinct differences between your darkest areas and your lightest areas can make your photos more compelling. To add contrast is always the first edit you shall use to make your pictures more professional.
Method 2: You can also increase the saturation of a photo to make the colors more vibrant and eye-popping.
Method 3: When the whole thing is tinted the wrong color, you can edit the photo's hue to correct it.
Method 4: You are able to take advantage of the "Shadows/Highlights" settings to remove any overly bright areas and weaken dark shadows in Photoshop.
Method 5: The Sharpen filter can also be employed to combat semi-blurry or out of focus shots.
Method 6: It is also sensible for you to shrink very blurry or lower-quality images to minimize the problem.

There are tutorials inside the program, go to Help menu, there is a choice "How to fix and enhance photo", with many choices of problem.
By the way, the fastest and easiest I used to do to edit is like this: 1. open the photo in photoshop (File --> open)
2. Go to menu "Image" --> Adjustment.
3. Click "auto contrast" to make more contrast, or "auto level" or "auto color". Just try.
If you are familiar already, then you can go on with setting by yourself the contrast, the level or the color balance. All choices are there.
Try it!! If you have spesific problem, post it so we can help you.

SOURCE: can i revert a photo edited on adobe photoshop?

Once the edited image has been saved, the original image gets over written and there is usually no way to go back to the un-edited version.

If you have the original source file, you can restore it to your hard drive. An example of this would be copying a picture from your digital camera to your hard drive again.

You can also retrieve the original file if you've used Windows Backup or some other backup program to save a copy of selected files.

How to edit picture?

Hi

You don't say which operating system you are using.

Photo Editing requires Photo Editing Software.

To do basic photo editing (cropping, rotating, flipping, adjust brightness, adjust contrast, adjust image size, adjust colo(u)r, adjust exposure, adjust size, adjust red eye) you can use free, built-in software that comes bundled with Windows and Microsoft Office such as: Paint, Microsoft Picture Viewer and Windows Photo Gallery.

In increasing order of editing functions:

Windows Photo Gallery: Fix > Auto Adjust, Adjust Exposure, Adjust Colour, Crop Picture, Fix Red Eye

Microsoft Office Picture Viewer: Picture > Brightness & Contrast, Colour, Crop, Rotate, Flip, Red Eye Removal, Resize, Compress.

Paint: Image > Flip/Rotate, Resize/Skew, Crop, Invert Colours, Adjust Attributes, Clear Image, Opaque.

In Paint you can also use additional tools to manipulate the image or add or delete shapes, text and colour (with a selection of writing or drawing implements): Free Form Select, Select, Fill with Colour, Magnifier, Brush, Text, Curve, Polygon, Rounded Rectangle, Ellipse, Rectangle, Line, Airbrush, Pencil, Pick Colour, Eraser/Colour Eraser.

In Windows Photo Gallery you can view and edit the same image in either of these 3 programs by clicking Open.

For more advanced photo editing, you can use the bundled software that comes with digital cameras such as:

Adobe Photoshop Elements

ACDSee

Picasa

Photo Studio

For more advanced, professional standard photo editing you must buy expensive Photo Ediiting and Graphic Design software such as:

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe LightRoom

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe InDesign

CorelDRAW

Corel Painter

I hope this helps.
