"OP" ERROR CODE

I loaded my washer and added the soap. I selected NORMAL cycle and 54 showed in the display. Then I pressed START, the door locked and the "OP" error code appeared. Now nothing happens except a beeping sound when I press any button, even after unplugging it and letting it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Can anyone give me any advice as to what to do to fix this condition?

Take a look at this post, it’s for troubleshooting an OD alarm but you can follow the same troubleshooting path to see if you have a lid magnet out of position or a broken lead on the magnetic reed relay located in the left lid lock. The lid magnet operates the magnetic reed relay to signal the lid is closed/the lid is open. Try an external magnet on the left bumper and see if that clears the OP error code with the lid open. If it doesn’t I would try reseating the left lid lock plug (possible corrosion issues). If that doesn’t clear the OP alarm it would be time to pull the life lid lock out of the machine and inspect for a broken lead on the magnetic reed relay or other corrosion issues with the left lid lock. The left lid lock is in a location near the bleach dispenser. Links to the SM are in that post and a link for parts look up. Post back if you have questions
