Booting problem I just installed an maxtor ata 250 gig in my dell dimension 4400. I used partition magic to copy partitions to this drive. It is connected via cable select. When I hook it up to replace my old drive it will not boot. I have a dual boot XP2 system and use boot magic which doesn't  recognise it as bootable. Can you help me? Thanks. Terry

I'm thinking the boot sector or master boot record was not written to the new disk or is corrupted.

Try running the recovery console from the installation CD and take a look at FIXBOOT and FIXMBR
