A C30 code is as follows straight from the Tech Manual.
.Timing switch fails to turn ON 2.5
sec after scanner motor starts to
turn in normal direction.
.Home position switch fails to turn
ON 6 sec after scanner motor
starts to reverse.
Solutions:
.Defective scanner motor
.Defective timing switch
.Defective scanner motor
.Defective home position
switch
Also check the scanner rail some of the seals on the rail around were the motor sits turn to gunk and will stop the scanner assy from moving.
