Same problem I have a Princeton Digital VL1918 17" and everytime I turn it on it will work for a second if that and go to a black screen.

Without PC connection, it powers on. The power light is green and screen displays a line of message. Then quickly the light becomes amble and the screen is dark.
What is the problem?
The monitor is Princeton VL1916.
