My crt monitor is not working, its power button light will be on when cpu is not turned on, but when cpu turned on , the monitor is continously turning off and on, please help me...

Why in the world use any 20 year old CRT monitor
its a fire hazard now , bet you !
if it fails on PC #2 the monitor is bad.
is this test hard? with billions of PC on earth.
tell me it is not.

btw no HP model number stated
of of the OSD menu button works ever.(monitor button)

I just had the same problem as well - mine happened during a windows update, related? Also, for me the monitor doesn't come one even after disconnecting from computer, nothing, just blinking green light.

Try taking on the back of the monitor and pulling the power plug all the way out of it for about five minutes and then plug it back in and restart the computer see if it solved it thanks

You need to open it up and the first place to look will be the power supply, look for bad caps with bulging top, post back what you find so we can guide you further. See example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

A fast blinking power light is an indication that the power supply is in a shorted condition. Parts called capacitors that filter the output power on the power supply board can fail and the power supply will short out causing the fast blinking power light. If you can solder then you can repair the monitor. Here is a link to a repair guide that has pictures and videos showing how to dis-assemble the unit and what to look for and replace to do the repair.
