My printer the printer ink pads are at the end of there service life

This is a common problem with inkjets and is basically that the waste pads have reached a point the printer considers they need replacing.

You haven't specified which printer you have so it's difficult to be more specific as to your options but you can look up more on the problem here:

If your printer is one of the newest models (released in the last 9 - 12 months) then chances are it may have a drop out waste pad holder. Older models tend to have static pads that an external waste kit is an easier solution.

One thing to note... the error itself is based on an arbitrary algorithm in the printer firmware that's based on number of cartridge changes, head cleans and prints with an adjustment for time passed. Resetting it requires software (again the link above will help with what's available) but regardless of whether you deal with the physical waste ink or not the waste counter will not change until you reset it.
