On many, code FO is the code to either clean or replace it's filter.

You have a possible fault with the humidity sensor. Refered to as the "humastat"

  • Nicole Champagne Oct 25, 2019

F0 is a filter error. Clean the two mesh filters on each side of the intake. Reinstall the filters. Unplug the dehumidifier, plug it back and F0 should be gone. Monitor filter cleanliness every 2 weeks.

On our dehumidifier it gives a code FO. What is that?

Hope this will help.
If the display reads "F0" , check the following operating conditions. Outlet voltage should be 115V±10% and the
surrounding temperature should be with in the range of 41 °F (5 °C) to 90 °F (32 °C). Unplug the unit and plug it in
again under normal operating conditions. If the "F0" code persists, contact your Authorized Service Center.

When turn off. makes a humming sound. compressor seems to be running.

Have same issue with 3 year old Frigidaire dehumidifier purchased in 2012. Must unplug to stop compressor running with power switch turned off. Unit gets hot and smells. Unplugging creates arcs at outlet since unit is pulling a lot of power. Plugging back in after some hours will make it appear to run normally and again remove moisture but it will not shut off when the fan goes off (humidistat bad?) and the set-point is reached. Cannot leave plugged in due to safetty/fire/overheating concern. Have not found answer on this forum or any other so far.

UNIT ICED UP. TEMP. IN CRAWL SPACE ABOVE 60 DEGREES. AFTER DE-ICING UNIT IT RAN FOR A WHILE AND THEN STOPPED. IT SHOWS CODE CH 01AND THE BUCKET FULL LIGHT IS BLINKING, NOT STEADY ON. POWERED DOWN UNIT...

When you powered down the unit, did you just turn if OFF using the controls on the unit Or did you unplug it entirely? If you didn't unplug it, it won't reset itself. Leave it unplugged for at least 30 minutes. As far as the blinking bucket full light is concerned ... It's possible that the bucket is slightly out of kilter and is only making partial contact with the safety switch. Especially if it's sitting on uneven soil or when the bucket get partially full the weight of the bucket is pulling it out of kilter because it's sitting on soil, rather than a hard floor. If nothing else, place it on a 1/2" piece of plywood or OSB and level it.

To be totally candid, I have some concerns about leaving a dehumidifier running, unattended in the crawl space of a house. There's to many things that could go wrong that would have disastrous results.

Unit keeps trying to run, but stops, then trys again. this happens 2 or 3 times until unit finally starts.

Hi, The compressor is taking a few tries to start...the capacitor is probably bad...this does not give the compressor the kick it needs to get started...
There are many reasons why a dehumidifier willnot work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrongwith their dehumidifier

Zenith ZD30 dehumidifier - 1 1/2 years old stopped working had a half bucket oc colledted water in bucket when it stopped. I checked the fuse on the circuit board and have continuity.

Unplug from wall. Take the front cover off and disconnect the 2 wires that attach to the humidity control dial. Plug back in. If it works, the problem is the humidty control dial (mine just went bad). With it unhooked, it will run constantly, but will still turn off when the bucket is full. To turn off, simply unplug.

My Whirlpool Gold dehumidifier is making the circuit breaker switch off. I used the sweeper to clean all of the dust from the vents but it continues to make the breaker switch off.

Take the unit outside and wash the coil out with a garden hose. Careful not to get water on the controls. Water will not hurt the motor or compressor as long as you keep it unplugged. Allow the unit to completely dry before running it again.

Delonghi de400p

same thing happend to me. I wasnt sure if it was the settings or me. I unplugged it for awhile, read thru the instructions turned it back on setting it according to the instructions and it began to work again. Not sure if it had to do with the unit being off for awhile or I entered the correct settings. Im just happy it began to run again
