I have a emachines t3256 with Windows Xp home edition and it does not bring up the monitor for desktop how do I fix it

When you power the computer on, there is usually a black screen with the words " Press "x" to enter setup. If you don't see that, depending on the monitor, you may get a no signal message, you may also only get this message if unhook the monitor. You should also heat a beep. If you are not getting any writing on the screen or any sound it is most likely the computer motherboard that is bad because it has a built in graphics card in the motherboard. You can perform the whole test though be removing everything from the computer including RAM, HDD, CD drive< Keyboard, mouse and power it on with only the monitor connected.
