Follow the two wires and look for scuffs broken or worn insulation. Sometimes easy to find by turning off the garage lights and pulling the rope (arcs can be seen easier this way). The wires use common ground to kill the spark through the switch. These wires are known to wear through the insulation after years of use and they inadvertantly ground out the ignition coils. Repair the wires with heat-shrink tubing or electrical tape as needed. Or replace the wires entirely if they are in very poor condition.
