I have the same problem and I brought my camera to nikon repair center to use the product warranty in NY and they turned me down because I bought the camera outside of US.
If it asks for date and time every time you turn it on even though you did set it last time - the internal battery is empty. You can change it if you have experience in soldering and repairs, otherwise - ask local Nikon or other camera service center.
