There is a switch actuated by the tensioner pulley for the drum belt. if the belt breaks, the pulley falls to the side, and the switch is opened, cutting power to most of the dryer(panel, motors, heater box. Definitely call for warranty repair!!!
Hi Bonnie. I see your dryer is under one year old, so don't mess with it yourself. Call a local authorized GE servicer for fast warranty service, or GE at 800-386-1215 to get the standard slower warranty service. (Be sure to have proof of purchase to varify warranty status)
