Blinking screen then...

So I looked around on the web here and saw a solution to a problem similar to mine. This is where the screen blinks on and off and can be corrected by turning up the screen screw just until the pic came on. And that was great. Bam, the picture came back on! I put the back on it, then put it back in the stand. I'd say 15-20 minutes later I looked and it had blanked out again. I turned it off took it out, and took the back off again. Iturned on the tv, waited for it to warm up. It popped on and I adjusted the screw all the way right making strange lines and curves. Iturned it back to where the picture was normal. I left it open this time. The picture would still black out,and in order to get it back you had to turn it off and on again. Now it works a little better by bringing the picture back on itself. But, what it has now is the color becomes brilliant and then back to not so. Then it will blank out and come back on by itself. Please help my family can not afford another TV anytime in the near future.
