I have a Elitegroup (ECS) motherboard model number P4S5MG/GL+ and running Window Xp... on a pentium 4, 2 ghz/ 512/400/1.5v processor..
i tried changing my processor to a Pentium 4, 2.8 ghz/1M/800 but when i turn on the cpu nothing happens... ( iknow the processor i fine and working,,,)
is theres anything to do with the mother board...??

Compatibility: make sure that your motherboard supports the new CPU you have bought. If you are sure it supports it then make sure you have the latest BIOS or any firmware from manufacturer installed.
I am assuming that you have seated the processor properly and it also has a fan properly working over it.
