Won't spin E47 code

My husbands been working on this for going on 3 wks now. We just replaced the control panel, cleared out filter basket by pump, and (although not replaced) the door lock seems to be in working order. Still won't spin. Any suggestions?

If you're getting the error when it tries to spin then the most likely problem is the wax motor on the door latch assembly. It has to extend it's plunger and activate the door locked switch inside the door latch assembly and physically lock the door before the machine can spin. These wax motor fail mechanically, they will check ok electrically and heat up but the wax chamber leaks around the plunger seal and won't let the plunger extend out to lock the door.

The door latch assembly comes apart real easy, just be careful not to break any of the tabs that hold it together, then make a test cord, (a lamp cord with spade connectors on the end to attach to the wax motor), and with the latch opened up and the test cord attached to the wax motor plug it in and watch the plunger. It should extend out and close the door lock switch within 1 to 2 minutes. If it doesn't then the wax motor is the problem and you can replace just the wax motor.

What type of motor does it have? A brush type with a commutator and a speed control? or a normal squirrel cage motor with wires connecting directly onto the motor? Ask your self what would cause the motor not to work?
1)Possibly the motor is actually faulty. 2)If brush type, are brushes making contact with comm..(tap on side of motor with spanner and look for any indication of a spark). Take note if pressure switch has senced low water in drum otherwise motor will mot spin.(remove plastic pipe off drum and blow into it. need to hear a clicking sound when you stop blowing). go from there..
