Same problem. I turned it off yesterday morning and last night it would not come back on. We have only had it about a year and a half.

D10 is shorted. HER304 in middle of Power supply board near large electrolytic cap. Replace with Radio Shack 276-1144 3A 400PIV Diode. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH HIGH VOLTAGE PRESENT ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD. UNPLUG POWER CORD!!! OBSERVE PROPER POLARITY WHEN REPLACING DIODE-LOOK WHERE THE BAND IS.

    I just fixed this model with same symptoms this morning. This is the solution IF and only IF the standby red light doesn't even come on.

    The diode will LOOK fine, but trust me, it's bad.
