I plugged in my Hitachi 1TB USB External Hard Drive into my computer but it doesn't detect it. It has power and it sounds like its "thinking", making a buzzing noise every once in a while, and the red light in the front is fading in and out.
I had this problem a few months ago and i fixed it by following this steps.
Go to control panel.
Administrative tools.
Computer managment.
Storage.
Disc management.
Right click on you drive in the chart
Click on change drive letter
Change
Restart your computer and it should work.
