5 beep error means that the waste ink tank is full. You can reset the counter to make it print by doing the following: You have to be exact. If you make a mistake in any of it, just go back to the beginning and start it all over.
1.Unplug the power cord from the printer
2.Hold down BOTH the POWER and RESUME button at the same time and then plug the power cord back in. Keep holding down the buttons until the printer finishes its powering up noises.
3.After the printer is quiet, release the POWER and RESUME buttons. Then hold down the RESUME and CARTRIDGE buttons at the same time with one hand, and press the POWER button with the other. KEEP HOLDING DOWN the RESUME and CARTRIDGE buttons until you hear 2 beeps. They will come quickly together and one beep will be longer than the other. Listen carefully, as they are not very loud.
4. Once you hear the 2 beeps, release both buttons.
5. After both buttons have been released, then press the CARTRIDGE button 15 times. You will hear a beep each time it's pressed.
6. After you finish pressing the cartridge button 15 times, then press the RESUME button one time. The printer will beep and shut off.
7. Turn the printer back on by pressing the POWER button. The printer will work fine now. The waste ink will have been reset to 50% full.
