Is the new cable for the printer about 3/4 inch and flat? This would be the new standard called USB. On the back of your computer are some holes which will match up to this cable - sometimes it will even say USB near the connections. Plug into one and your pretty much done, unless you need to install software. Your computer should say " new device found " when plugged in. I will give more help if needed
