The dog feed switch does not work--material gets caught when sewing and the entire face plate with bobbin,etc needs to be taken apart to release material caught inside. the dog feet switch does not adjust the dog feed--like it is not attached. Upon opening the face switch the first time--the inner workings of metal appear to have been scratched like filed--my husband thinks the finish work was not completed after putting parts together--I think it looks like it has been refurbished. When I purchased it, there was no manual and half the accessories that were to accompany the machine--were missing, Saddly, I did not realize this until months later--I used my old machine, sine I could not get the new one to work properly & it was during the holidays. So now--I am stuck with a malfunctioning machine & am gravely disappointed.
Find a local dealer who sells Janome. This machine and most Kenmore's are made by Janome. However I know theyb will charge $80 or so to ven lok at it. I have this same machine also refurbished and no big issues as yet except buttonholer foot was broken when I got it. Am still awaiting a new one a month later.
