I recently smelt a burning smell coming from my Eureka and after I cleaned the filter it seemed to go way, but not it will not even start. Can you please give me some feed back of what might be wrong? Thank you!!
I just bought a Eureka Altima and have only used it five times when I smelled an awful burning smell. I turned it off and then back on and now the brush won't spin! Any Idea what it could be?I just bought a Eureka Altima and have only used it five times when I smelled an awful burning smell. I turned it off and then back on and now the brush won't spin! The windings have a temperature sensor that "usually" resets when it detects an over heating problem. The other alternative is a light bulb in series with the motor that has popped, this will stop the motor from running.
I'd bet on the thermostat in series with the windings first though, can be replaced if you can get the cleaner apart.
